SusHi Tech Global is an initiative led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government that aims to expand the Sustainable City Vision globally and foster global innovation. It aims to do this  by providing public-private support to technology startups that solve challenges not only in cities and society but also in the business sector.

Specifically, it offers multifaceted support in areas such as organisational development, recruitment, fundraising, international expansion, promotion, networking, and legal and tax matters.

On September 3, 2026, at the Tokyo Innovation Base, 10 startups presented their  pitches, and a selection of companies from the 94 participating as of the end of July 2026 gathered for an exhibition. The event focused primarily on press announcements and the exchange of information on the latest developments.

Although each company is delving into seemingly disparate fields – such as nuclear fusion, diagnostic reagents, satellite data, robotics, and wearable devices – I sensed that their purpose was simple and shared: to use AI-driven collaboration to create hybrid connections across fields that previously had no common ground, and to support people around the world facing hardships, through technology and ideas.

SusHi Tech Global Media Conference, highlighted programs for sustainable startups, energy resilience, and technological innovation.  Participants engaged in discussions about engineering design processes, high-performance membrane technologies, genomic testing challenges, and global fusion energy developments. The event served as a valuable platform to offer startup support, and collaborative networks aimed at fostering sustainable high-city tech solutions.
